About Ann

Dr Ann Collins

Counselling Psychologist & Integrative Psychotherapist.

A Personal Approach to Every Journey

I am a counselling psychologist (HCPC) and integrative psychotherapist, and I believe therapy should be shaped around the individual. Over the years, I’ve trained in a range of therapeutic approaches so I can adapt my work to your needs rather than expecting you to fit a single model.

My practice is guided by an attachment and trauma-informed perspective. Depending on your needs, I integrate EMDR and CBT, and my work is also informed by person-centred (humanistic) and psychodynamic models. In couples therapy, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

I aim to offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. My role is to help you develop insight, build on your strengths, and work towards meaningful change that feels authentic and sustainable.

I offer in-person sessions in a comfortable private room in Ealing (W5), in a calm and welcoming setting with excellent public transport links from across London. Online sessions are also available for those who prefer to work remotely or need greater flexibility.

How I Work

My approach to therapy

My work is integrative, tailoring therapy to you and the concerns you bring, and I draw on a range of relational and evidence-based methods where clinically appropriate.

In practice, this means we take time to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and to make sense of what you are experiencing in the context of your life, relationships, and history.

Some sessions may be more exploratory and reflective, helping you understand patterns, emotions, and ways of coping, while others may be more structured, focusing on practical strategies and therapeutic tools to support change.

Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step, and it is natural to feel uncertain at first. You are welcome to get in touch to discuss what you are looking for, ask any questions, and see whether I am the right fit for you.

Attachment-Based

Explores how early relationships shape emotional wellbeing and patterns in adult relationships, supporting greater security, self-understanding, and healthier relationships.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Identifies and challenges unhelpful thoughts or behaviours, creating practical strategies to improve mood, confidence, and daily life.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

A structured, evidence-based therapy that helps identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviours and develop practical strategies to reduce distress and improve day-to-day functioning.

EMDR

Uses structured eye movements and recall to safely process distressing memories, reducing the emotional impact of past trauma.

EMDR

An evidence-based therapy that helps process distressing memories and reduce their emotional intensity, particularly where trauma, anxiety, or adverse experiences are involved.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Works with emotions in relationships to strengthen trust, improve communication, and build lasting emotional bonds.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

An evidence-based couples therapy that helps partners understand negative cycles, strengthen emotional responsiveness, and build a more secure bond.

Humanistic & Person-Centred

Focuses on empathy, acceptance, and personal strengths to support growth, self-understanding, and a deeper sense of self-worth.

Person-Centred (Humanistic)

A person-centred, humanistic approach offers a supportive, non-judgemental space to deepen self-understanding and make changes that feel authentic and self-directed.

Psychodynamic & Relational

Examines patterns from past relationships and experiences to understand current difficulties and create healthier ways of relating.

Psychodynamic & Relational

Explores how past experiences and unconscious patterns may be influencing current difficulties, with the therapeutic relationship supporting insight and change in how you feel, relate, and cope.
